Museum collaborations reach new heights |

Kitchener, ON - Did you know you can see The Children's Museum from the top of the CN Tower? So says the handout which includes a savings of up to $35.00 per person to the CN Tower being handed out to Museum visitors. In return 40,000 brochures promoting a day trip or over night stay to the Museum's current exhibits Woldemar Neufeld | Stories Best Told and GPS Adventures in downtown Kitchener in the heart of Waterloo Region are being given to CN Tower visitors. Visitors at both attractions will be able to see inside the other attraction live on large screens being installed. In the Museum's case, images will be streaming live from the Metamorph Webcam which is controlled by visitors and soars back and forth across the Museum's four level Atrium. This is all part of the most recent collaboration crafted by the Museum and CN Tower. "We are delighted to be working with the Children’s Museum," says Lisa Tompkins, Director of Marketing and Communications at the CN Tower. "Partnerships such as this provide an important opportunity to cooperatively promote the great attractions and experiences that can be found throughout Ontario and Canada while providing great savings to our guests." Chuck Thibeault, President of Attractions Ontario agrees. "The impact of things such as the strength of the Canadian dollar, the weakened economy and new Passport requirements have created the need for creative collaborative strategies. This is a perfect example of that collaborative spirit as it will move both residents of Ontario as well as out of province guests around the province." The Children's Museum has been placed on a larger cultural map in recent years with exhibits based on the life of Dr. Jane Goodall, who visited in person, and The Art, Inspiration & Appropriation of Andy Warhol which featured more than 60 original works of his art. David Marskell, CEO at the Children's Museum and former Director of Marketing at the Canadian National Exhibition knows the importance of working together. "It is just logical in any economy. We have been privileged to have been a part of dozens of local collaborations in recent years and are now reaching a little further to help shine a light on the Museum and this region. We are also honoured that institutions such as the CN Tower are willing to work with us and I applaud them for showing industry leadership and being so receptive to such initiatives." The Museum will host Our Body | The Universe Within beginning January 2010 and are partnering with the three hospitals from Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo.
