Kitchener, ON - The Children's Museum of Waterloo Region is proud to announce that in conjunction with their upcoming exhibition, Discovering Chimpanzees: The Remarkable World of Jane Goodall, they have secured Dr. Goodall herself to make an appearance and give a full lecture at Kitchener's own Centre In The Square.
Since the announcement of the world class exhibit in September, Museum staff have been planning several additional complementary programs that will be implemented during the run of the exhibit as it has the ability to connect and relate to a variety of educational themes from conservation and environmentalism, to communication, to biology and medicine to social justice issues in Africa.
"To be an active part in hosting Jane Goodall in our Region is tremendously exciting for the Museum and for the community as a whole," said David Marskell, the CEO at the Children's Museum. "Dr. Goodall coming to speak in Kitchener helps us achieve an overall Jane Goodall experience that people of every age can and will enjoy." Other major facets to the Jane Goodall experience is an art installation by children in African countries and the recently announced ECO consumer show being held at the Museum in March.
An Evening with Jane Goodall is scheduled to take place at The Centre In The Square on Monday May 12th, 2008 at 7 p.m. Tickets for the event go on sale to the public beginning Monday, December 10th at 10 a.m. through the Centre In The Square Box Office, though Museum members will receive exclusive access to purchase in advance beginning Saturday, December 8th at 10 a.m.
Proceeds from the sale of tickets, which range in price from $20 per seat through to $150 per seat, will be put towards Museum operations. The $150 VIP Chimpanzee Packaged ticket includes prime seating at the lecture, two passes to Discovering Chimpanzees: The Remarkable World of Jane Goodall, four passes to the ECO Show in March, an exclusive invitation to the pre-lecture reception, which will be attended by Dr. Goodall and a tax receipt for $70.00.
Tickets can be purchased through the Centre In The Square Box Office in person, by telephone at 519-578-1570 or 1-800-265-8977 or online at www.Centre-Square.com.
