Kitchener, ON - The Children's Museum will be closing down King St. this January to make room for the delivery of their upcoming blockbuster exhibit, Discovering Chimpanzees: The Remarkable World of Jane Goodall.

The exhibit, which is approximately 6000 square feet in size, is being driven to Kitchener from its previous venue, the Boston Museum of Science which hosted it this past summer, in three 53' tractor trailer trucks. It will take up the entire fourth level of the Museum, including the RIM Gallery.

The delivery and load in will require King Street to be closed between Queen and Ontario for much of the day on January 14th, 2008. Upon loading all 55 crates of faux jungle scenery into the Museum, 6 students from Conestoga College will spend 10 days with 2 exhibit technicians to assemble all 11 sections of the show.

These sections include a chimp rainforest, a replica of Jane Goodall's work station in Gombe National Park, a life sized video of Jane Goodall herself, authentic artifacts and several interactive stations that will teach children and adults all about chimpanzees, their characteristics and behaviours and the similarities and differences to other primates.

Discovering Chimpanzees opens at The Children’s Museum beginning on January 25 and will run through to May 25 of 2008 and advanced tickets can be purchased at www.DiscoveringChimps.ca.
